Students and families of Stewart Middle School in Tacoma are invited to a virtual information session for students that are interested in applying to SOTA, SAMI, or IDEA for the Class of 2026 beginning in the Fall of 2022 as incoming 9th graders.

You'll have the opportunity to hear from current and former students, staff, and faculty from each of the three schools that will give you a taste of what you can expect as a student starting next Fall. We'll also walk you through the simple steps of applying online to the regional lottery.

Note that you do not need to attend an information session to apply.

Please note the following:

- You must be a current 8th grade student going into 9th grade in the Fall of 2022 to apply
- SOTA, SAMI, and IDEA are part of Tacoma Public Schools and do not have any tuition or application costs
- You do not need to live in Tacoma Public Schools to apply. We accept approximately 10-20% of our incoming students each year from outside of Tacoma School District
- While you do need to apply online to be considered for admission, we do not look at grades, test scores, or have any minimum academic entrance requirements. Our admissions process is entirely based on a regional lottery ensuring that our incoming class proportionally represents the entire Tacoma Public School district.

While this session is primarily for families of Stewart Middle School, you do may attend any of the virtual information session, regardless of your current middle school.
